The popular star known for her outrageous fashion choices was nominated for six MTV Europe Music Awards (EMA) on Monday, leading the way with nominations including those for Best song for “Born this way”, best pop act, best live act and best female artist.
Her other nominations are for Best Video for “born this way” and Biggest fans (a category introduced this year).
Katy Perry will rival Lady Gaga in four of the categories: best song for “Firework”, best live act, best pop act and best female artist.
Adele who is renowned for her stripped down performances and soulful vocals is nominated for awards: best female act, best British or Irish act, best song and best video, for “Rolling in the Deep.”
Other multiple nominees include Justin Beiber who is up for three categories. The teen is competing for best pop, best male artist and biggest fans.
This year’s MTV Europe Music Awards will be held on 6 November at the Belfast Odyssey Arena. One of the biggest music award nights outside of the United States, it is expecting to draw in a large TV audience and online viewers, with last year’s event drawing over 22 million TV viewers.
