Steven Tyler is recovering from a stage fall that occurred during a concert in South Dakota. The front man for the band Areosmith, fell from the stage during a show in Sturgis on August 5th. It was reported that while the crew was repairing a technical glitch, the 62 year old singer tried to keep the crowd entertained with some fancy footwork. Tyler sustained A broken shoulder and received twenty stitches on the back of his head as a result of the fall. He was air lifted to the local hospital, but is now resting comfortably in his home. The media took advantage of the fall to fuel the fire of the earlier speculation that Tyler was intoxicated. Steven Tyler who famously battled with substance abuse in the 70’s and 80’s, admittedly denies the rumors of any current abuse.
The injury sustained in the fall has resulted in the bands canceling of the remainder of their summer tour dates. Although there are rumors of disagreements among the band members about the cancellation of the tour, Tyler denies these claims. He has told the public that Areosmith is disappointed in having to end the tour early. The tour was shared with fellow legendary rockers ZZ Top has not been rescheduled at this point.
Refunds are being offered to fans who have already purchased tickets. All the band members are eager to get back to work just as soon as Tyler is able, but the band agrees that his recovery comes first.
